| Indiana Youth Soccer Players Fire Up at MLS Match |
 |
The first Indiana Youth Soccer Night with the Chicago Fire MLS team was held last Saturday, August 4th at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois. Over 80 Indiana Youth Soccer players from around the state participated in pre-game events on the fields. The capacity-plus crowd turned out on a warm, drizzly night to watch the Chicago Fire battle rival Columbus Crew to a scoreless draw finish.
Prior to the MLS match, players from the U12-U14 Wildcats FC of northwestern Indiana treated the crowd to an on-field scrimmage. During the opening ceremonies, players from soccer organizations across Indiana participated in the human "Tunnel of Fire", welcoming MLS players to the fields with high fives and cheers. Another twenty-two lucky Indiana Youth Soccer youngsters also got the unique opportunity to escort a professional soccer player on to the field during the pre-game player introductions. All Indiana Youth Soccer participants received a variety of participation prizes including t-shirts, jerseys, or and/or free entry to the game.
Indiana Youth Soccer would like to thank all of the player participants and their coaches, managers and parents who came out to support the players on the field. Thank you for being such great stewards for youth soccer in our state.
