The 2008 US Youth Soccer adidas Workshop and Coaches Convention will be held February 7-9 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Penn.

“PA West Soccer is excited to have the 2008 US Youth Soccer adidas Workshop and Coaches Convention coming to the Pittsburgh area,” said Tim McCoy, Director of Member Services, Pennsylvania West State Soccer. “We are excited to host those from around the country and for those in and around Pittsburgh to get to attend the US Youth Soccer workshop.”

The event, the largest of its kind for youth sports in North America, features more than 90 educational workshops and demonstrations for administrators, coaches, referees, parents, and soccer enthusiasts. The event features the announcement of the 2007 US Youth Soccer adidas Coach of the Year as well as an exhibit hall with over 200 exhibitors featuring the latest soccer equipment, technology, apparel, fundraising ideas and more.

In addition to learning from some of the leading clinicians in the areas of coaching and player development, the event will include topics from the challenges and realities of international travel, risk management, organizing and financing field development. You will also hear the latest in marketing techniques and tactics, sports medicine topics, developing and retaining youth referees and additional areas of interest regarding recreational, elite, and disabled players.

“It was exciting and very educational to have the pleasure of hosting the 2007 US Youth Soccer adidas Workshop and Coaches Convention in our state of Missouri. Our coaches, parents and referees were very impressed with the clinicians that presented at the convention,” said Denny Vaninger, Director of Coaching and Education, Missouri Youth Soccer. “Bringing in some of the best teachers of soccer coaches will only improve our coaches’ education, but hopefully thousands of youth players will benefit from the experience also thanks to adidas and US Youth Soccer.”

Registration information for 2008 will be available shortly.

Full registration fee includes entry to all workshops, US Youth Soccer Awards Gala, President's Reception, The After Party presented by adidas and exhibit hall. Registration will not include hotel room reservation, however US Youth Soccer will secure room blocks for hotels in close proximity to the convention.

More than 3,000 registered guests attended the 2007 event in St. Louis, and similar numbers are expected for 2008.
