| Indiana Youth Soccer Welcomes the Glendale Soccer Association |
 |
Indiana Youth Soccer welcomes the Glendale Soccer Association of Indianapolis, Indiana as the newest affiliate member of Indiana Youth Soccer. The Glendale Soccer Association is based in District 9 and currently serves over 650 youth participants, ages 3 through 14, through a recreational youth soccer program. "Having Glendale as a part of Indiana Youth Soccer is very exciting," said District Commissioner Marc Maxey. "That area of District 9 is a more urban environment, and it is important they have representation and support. We look forward to working with Glendale and helping serve their community."
The Glendale Soccer Association is an all-volunteer managed recreational program that was originally incorporated in 1987. The program strives to offer an introduction to the fundamentals of soccer and to foster an atmosphere of learning and development. The recreational programs offer a micro-soccer format to encourage player development by maximizing touches on the ball and playing time. The program also promotes a developmental atmosphere by not offering results-oriented games (recorded wins and losses) until the U13 age group.
Led by new president Pamela Black, the Glendale Soccer Association has made a commitment to membership to bring the benefits of Indiana Youth Soccer to their club including services such as: coaching education, player development clinics and administrative support. Indiana Youth Soccer looks forward to working with the players, parents, coaches and administrators of the Glendale Soccer Association.
