League Task Force Names Referee Assignor Administrator

The League Task Force is pleased to announce the hiring of Steve Brink as the Referee Assignor Administrator for the Indiana Soccer League (ISL), GIRLS and CIYSL leagues.

Steve's background in soccer includes experience as a coach, club board member, league commissioner and referee assignor. Steve is an active grade 7 USSF referee and is high school certified, officiating over 65 games per season. Steve is the DRA for Districts 6 and 11 and served as an assignor for ISL and the Indiana State Cup. Married with three children, Steve resides in Westfield and works as a Program Launch Manager with WW Grainger.

"I believe that Steve will be a tremendous asset to ISL this spring and the regional leagues by fall," said ISL Commissioner Angel Hall. "Steve's knowledge, experience and passion for the game will help create a better environment for youth soccer in Indiana."

In the spring of 2008, Steve will work with ISL to oversee league assignors, ensuring that all assignors have the appropriate tools and resources to complete their assignments and that all ISL games are officiated with the quality and level of referees that the ISL games require. In the fall of 2008, Steve will add referee assignor administration duties for the GIRLS and CIYSL leagues to his responsibilities. Beginning in the fall of 2008, these three leagues will begin using the same web based registration system to assign referees.

"This is such a great opportunity to promote cooperation among the leagues, teams and referees for the good of the game. I look forward to working closely with the assignors to assure we have the right level of referee at the appropriate skill level of the game," said Brink. "Working with the leagues, I am committed to giving the assignors the best tools and support for referee scheduling and reporting."

Hiring a Referee Assignor Administrator and improving the assigning of all referees is part of a larger project by the League Task Force to unify and simplify the efforts of our travel leagues to help improve the environment for our teams, players, coaches and fans. The League Task Force was implemented by Indiana Youth Soccer in July 2007 to help facilitate efforts by all Indiana Youth Soccer sanctioned travel leagues in providing a better competitive environment for all teams.
