2009 Sam Bothwell Cup

OYSAN Bothwell Cup
The OYSAN Bothwell Cup Award recognizes the club or community which accumulates the most points across the U-10 through U-14 divisions at the Sam Bothwell Memorial Cup.

This year's girl's winner was Wooster-based Ohio Strikers United (22) followed by Twinsburg AC (19) Strongsville (18) and Liederkranz (14).

For the boys, Hudson United (25) repeated as winners, followed by Findlay (21), MSC Wave (20), and Brecksville TSO, Canfield and Mayfield, all with 18 points.

President's Cup
Congratulations to MSC Wave U-14 Boys (pictured above) who have qualified to represent OYSAN at the 2010 US Youth Soccer President's Cup, scheduled for June 2010 in Madison, Wisconsin.

Quick Return to Florida
James Haupt (Jackson, Everest) was invited back to the U-17 national residency program in Bradenton for a second look. This was James' second "trial" in under a month. Good luck!

OYSAN e-Newsletter
2009 back issues of the OYSAN e-Newsletter are now posted in the coaches section of OYSAN.org.

OYSAN Skill Awards
Technique, technique, technique is generally the quality that separates players at the different levels of ability. Simply, the more time players spend with the ball, the less difficult it becomes to solve tactical problems.  The OYSAN Skill Awards program is an honor-based juggling challenge that provides players with a framework to develop their touch and comfort level with the ball. For more information click here.

US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program
The selection process for the 2010 OYSAN state teams begins this weekend at Brad Friedel's PSA in Lorain. Players born in 1996 and 1997 can attend the monthly sessions by invitation only. All other players (1998, 1995, 1994 and 1993) have open registration. The Olympic Development Program is the identification arm of the US Soccer Youth National Team's program.
