PSA Announces 2009 Summer Camp And Tournament Information

A Full Slate Of Camps Are Now Open For Registration For All Ages And Skill Levels, Including Dates Of The 3rd Annual 5-v-5 Tournament

Lorain, Ohio. - Brad Friedel's Premier Soccer Academies, the first of its kind in the United States to offer professional soccer training in a state-of-the-art $11 million facility, has announced its roster of 2009 summer camps and tournaments:

PRE-PSA Camp and National Youth License
Two (2) Pre-PSA Camps are now offered for boys and girls, ages 6-12. The Pre-PSA Camps (June 8-12 and August 17-21 both at the PSA Campus) are designed to give the next generation of soccer players an educational, fun and exciting training experience that is second to none. An emphasis on proper technique is the primary objective provided by some of the best instructors in the game.

The June camp will be held in conjunction with The Ohio Youth Soccer Association North, who are hosting a National Youth License for coaches working with players aged 6-12.

The June camp is designed to prepare young players for their summer tournament schedule. The August camp is designed to be a pre-season tune-up for the fall season.

PSA Future Stars Camp/Goalkeepers/Strikers
PSA is offering a training experience for boys and girls, ages 11-18. This camp, June 15-19 at Lost Nation Sports Park, will feature the most modern methods in coaching, strength, conditioning and nutrition used at top professional clubs around the world. As an added bonus, players (boys) participating in the camp will be evaluated and considered for the PSA Development Academy Residential Camp (July 13-17).

Whether you are looking to earn a college scholarship, make your state program, earn a place on your club team or simply ensure your spot on your varsity team, the Future Stars Camp will help you reach your full potential and achieve your goals.

PSA High School Girls Team Camp
The Girls High School team camp (July 6-10 at the PSA Campus) is now offered for six (6) teams in preparation for their upcoming fall season. Each team will receive training from top-level coaches, focusing on technical, tactical, physical and psychological training.

This camp is an intensive, accelerated experience for the entire team that prepares them to start their high school season, ready from Day 1.

PSA Development Academy Boys Residential Camp
(Note: For players from northern Ohio, this camp serves as your tryout for the PSA/CASA U16 & U18 U.S. Development Academy Teams)

PSA and CASA have teamed up to offer this residential camp (July 13-17) which is available for boys, ages 13-18, offering each player top-level coaching in a true professional environment at the $11 million PSA Campus. This camp will provide professional coaching sessions, a nutritional program and plan, and a strength and conditioning program and plan. All programs implemented during the residential camp will prepare individual players for the experience of playing at the collegiate level from all aspects of training, match competition and overall fitness to start their season at the top of their game.

In addition, this camp will serve as the main tryout for the PSA/CASA U16 & U18 U.S. Development Academy Teams. Players from the northern Ohio region that have the desire to be selected for the PSA Academy Program will be evaluated during this camp.  The PSA Academy Program provides daily professional training at the PSA Campus for players selected in this program at no cost for the upcoming season.

During the 2008/09 U.S. Development Academy's 10-month season, 75 teams combine to play more than 2,000 games scheduled across the country, all building up towards a playoff weekend in June. The top three teams in each division, along with the top five fourth-place teams, will qualify for the 32-team U.S. Development Academy Playoffs at Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C. The top eight teams from each age group will then qualify to compete at the U.S. Development Academy Finals Week in July.

Every player participating in this camp will be given a fascinating insight into how PSA prepares their academy members to reach their optimal level of performance. This course is intense and will be delivered using the PSA development model with top-of-the-line equipment.

The success of PSA's training methods is not only shown by its outstanding record of placing academy members to the next level, but also by the accomplishments of the coaching directors and camp staff who have started and developed a significant part of their careers in the development of PSA like Brad Friedel, Roy Tunks and Chris Short. Registration for all camps is now offered by visiting the PSA web site at www.gopsa.com. Positions for each camp are limited so sign up today!
