U15 Boys Lightning White
TO THE PARENTS - We will develop your boys into complete young soccer players and prepare them to play and compete at high level in RSC team’s club (I.e.: Premier league, State League) and/or high school teams (I.e.: JV, Varsity) through their teenager years, by teaching individual advanced soccer techniques, team tactics and play, and enhancing their natural capabilities and talents. We will make your investment in sport education a valuable one. Your boys will learn to understand and appreciate the team spirit and effort. They will learn how to place individual skills at the service of the team and play with character in a competitive yet fun environment. TEAM BACKGROUND - The existing team was formed two years ago as a U13 team. The core of the team is the same as when we started. We added new players, who have enhanced the team capability and personality, every year. The team plays in all three season leagues, fall (*), winter and spring. The team participates and competes in both State and out-of-State tournaments throughout the year. The team’s practices (twice a week during the fall and spring season and once a week during the winter indoor season) are based on activities used by youth teams (U14, U15) part of Italian Premier League professional teams/clubs (I.e.: F.C. Inter Milan). These activities are modified and tailored to team’s player capability and level. THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE COACHING STAFF - I had the opportunity to play against one the greatest player of the 80’s, Brazil International Paulo Roberto Falcao, once. At the of the game as we shook hands he told me something I never forgot:”….no matter where you play, which team you play for, the level you play at, always remember that you must always have the love and the passion for the game. This love and passion does lie in your head and your soul. If you lose that and you are no longer able to smile then it is like a theater play when the curtain comes down…it is all over!” The positive experience for these young players is the most important thing and the key cornerstone of the coach's philosophy. The objective is indeed to develop good soccer players; to teach them how to play with a winning mentality, because winning is important. It is also about teaching them to compete with fairness and sportsmanship with positive mental attitude. We want them to develop new friendships and/or grow existing one even stronger through this wonderful sport experience.
COMMENTS FROM TEAM PARENTS AND PLAYERS ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCE -'Being part of the U94 Lighting program has been great – the boys have learned the joy of winning, how to lose a game without losing heart, and most importantly, the importance of playing with character. This is modeled by the coaching staff, and we feel privileged to have connected to such fine group of people (parents, players, coaches) this year.' (Steve Naseef, parent) - 'I really appreciate how you always made sure everyone was doing what they had to do to get better. The one of the many things that you have taught me was "get to the ball!" and to always put forth as much effort as you can into something that you want. I remember at practice thinking why are we doing these weird drills but now I realize that you were taking what you think we weren't as strong at and combining that into our practice routines. You have also made us push our level up higher making sure that we don't stop.' (Alex Folz, player) - 'RingraziarLa, Ringraziarla per è appena lí. Lei mi ha insegnato così molto del calcio. You have helped me grow stronger, mentally and physically. I will always remember all those practices, 16,16,16,16,16,16,16,16,15,15...
But in the end those push-ups and leg-lifts really paid off. You have showed me how to properly kick a soccer ball, and to keep control of the ball longer. Ringraziarla per fare me uno calciatore migliore! Keep working on the rainbow! (Eric Hund, player) - 'Thank you for being my coach for the last several years. You've taught me so much about soccer and having a good sporting attitude. I will continue to use that attitude in all areas of my life.' (Ryan Freeland, player). 'You are awesome coaches and I know Alex has learned so much from each of you. It has been a privilege to be a part of the team. Thank you for all your hard work and time.' (Dan and Mary Kay Bickman, parents)
