Blackburn Hangs Tough against Chelsea in the FA Cup Semi-Finals

The Blackburn Rovers battled Chelsea into extra-time but could not capitalize on a second half offensive surge.


It was a great yet disappointing day yesterday for Blackburn. We played the champions, Chelsea in the semi-final of the FA Cup and lost 2-1 in extra time.

We played very well and in the second half especially had the better of the play and scoring chances.

We were able to walk off the field with our heads held high due to our performance but that will not hide our frustration at not being in the final for the first FA Cup at the new Wembly.

Our fans were absolutley amazing, as were Chelsea's, which made for a tremendous atmosphere.

The great thing about football is that another game is always around the corner and we now have to put the disappointment of yesterday behind us and focus on beating Watford on Wednesday.
