Strong Start To Season 8/28/2007
We had another pretty good weekend with regards to our performance against Everton.
Our squad is as strong as it has ever been since my time here and it needed to be seeing how our captain, Ryan Nelson, was suspended for this game.
Andre Ooijer and Chris Samba played really well at central defence and we kept Everton at bay for most of the game and should have scored more than one goal in the first half ourselves at the other end.
It was also a special day for myself as it was the first time I captained Blackburn in a premier league game.
It was also one of the most sad days as we all paid respect to the eleven year old Everton fan who was tragically killed a few days earlier. I met the family, and as a father myself it is something that is chilling and my heart goes out to them in infinite amounts.
We now have MYPA from Finland on Thursday and Manchester City to come on Sunday. Games now come thick and fast which is the way we like it.
