Classroom session will be held in the Library on the second floor in room 217. Field session will be held on the infield of the track. Important information for all New Mexico Youth
Soccer Coaching Courses:
General Information
- Course details listed as "TBD" will be finalized and posted on the website
- Courses are subject to cancellation should enrollment not meet the coursminimum.
- Minimum 12 coaches participating per Youth Module Course
- Minimum 15 coaches participating per E certificate and D License
- All courses open to any and all coaches in New Mexico aged 16 or older
- Coaches interested in registering must include email address and telephone contact information in registration form
- Attendance for entire course a must for course completion
- Coaches should bring a notebook, pen/pencil, correct footwear and a properly inflated soccer ball to each course and should come prepared for indoor and outdoor activities
- No field testing required for courses listed as "certification", field testing required for courses listed as a "license"
Deposits
- Courses that require a refundable deposit will be identified under course cost
- Refundable deposits may be made by submitting a check or by credit card
- All deposit checks for "E" and "D" courses should be made payable to NMYSA and should be mailed to, NMYSA, 2825 Broadbent Parkway NE, Suite D, Albuquerque, NM 87107
- Candidates will receive a full refund of the deposit on completion of the course.
- Candidates who wish to cancel their registration must contact the State Technical Director by email at least 7 days prior to the beginning of the course in order to receive a refund of the deposit
Course Pre-requisites/Waivers
- There is no pre-requisite to enter the "E" license course, although attending both Youth Module courses is highly recommended
- There is no pre-requisite to enter the Youth Module 1 or 2
- All candidates who wish to enroll in the "D" license must have successfully completed the "E" certificate. Coaches may apply for a waiver which is permission to bypass the E and go straight into the D License; being granted a waiver out of the E course does not provide you with a license/certification. In order to waive past the E and go into the D a coach must have:
- Four years of college playing experience or higher AND
- Five years of coaching experience
- If a coach has both of these criteria then they should contact the State Technical Director. You will be asked to provide written proof of your coaching and playing experience.
