General Information

The Indiana ODP Process (2005-2006)

The 910 Academy and District Training are based on age. When a player enters the State Pool they will be placed on a team according to their birth year.

9 and 10 Year of Age
Open to both Boys and Girls to attend the 910 Academy at any time throughout the state.

11 through 14 Years of Age
Open to both Boys and Girls to attend District training at any time throughout the state. Players are placed into the ODP State Pool by birth year and not age groups like clubs. New Players in the 1994, 93, 92, and some 91’s depending on their age should attend Indiana Youth Soccer ODP District Training Sessions that will occur in 9 different Districts once a month starting in September.

Indiana Youth Soccer District Trainings are for players between the ages of 11-14.

To participate in the Indiana Youth Soccer ODP State Pool, a player for the year of 2005-06 needs to be born in the birth years of 1994, 1993, 1992, 1991, 1990, and 1989.

Before November 30th and after February 1st, new players must go through either District Training or Goalkeeper Training or have been recommended by an ODP Staff Coach.

Those players in those birth years may be identified and asked to move on to the Indiana Youth Soccer ODP State Pool level.

Every player recommended to the State Pool will be evaluated for at least 2 training dates (up to 4 training session if they come to both trainings session on a training date) After 2 training dates a player may be dropped from the State Pool at the Head Coaches discretion.

From the Indiana Youth Soccer ODP State Pool level, players from all over the state train and play matches together in attempt to make an Indiana Youth Soccer ODP State Team. At the end of February the ODP State Team Head Coaches will trim down the player pool for March and April. From September through April, players are involved in ODP District and State Pool training sessions.

After this period, in April, ODP State Teams are selected. Coaches from all around Indiana are selected to coach these ODP State Teams. The number of players selected depends on the age group. The process is one that spans eight months.

After the ODP State Teams are selected, they then attend Mini Camps or participate in a tournament to prepare for the Region II Camps. Region II Camps are usually in the months of June and July. After attending Regional Camps, the process starts over again in September of the following year.
